Chug the Jugs

3 Jugs of Water

Recently I’ve been trying to increase my daily intake of water. I thought of a way to make it fun for myself by tallying up what I drink at work by drawing a kitty each time i consume a whole bottle. I draw it on with a dry erase marker so i can restart my tally the next day. Today I drank 3 – 24 oz filled jugs in the 8 hours i was at my work desk. Not too bad. At work it is easy for me to chug water though since the jug just sits there and stares at me. Once i get home, sadly, i forget.

A Walk to the Store

Walk Back from Nob Hill

Jeff and I often go on walks around the block on weekends just to get out of the house. Today we decided to walk to the Nob Hill (aka Snob Hill) grocery store, which is a close 15 minute walk one way. We grabbed some goods and toted it back in our reusable Target bag. How earth friendly of us! And we burned over 100 calories!

Get a Clue

Playing Clue?

Carrie and Roger invited us over for some yummy Chicken Tortilla Soup dinner. I baked up some healthy (^_^ JK!!) Passion Fruit Bars from my Hawaii Party Food cook book my mom gave me. After dinner we hung out by the fireplace and played a few board games. We taught them Sequence – a board/card/connect-4-esque game.  Then we played Clue, which I’ve never played before in my life. (Weird… but i guess we just never had it in our house as a child.) I really felt honored every time someone shared their clues with me. I really had no *ahem* clue what i was doing. Before i could really get my game on, Carrie ended up winning by correctly guessing Mrs. White + the Revolver + the Study. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Tradeshow = Awesome

PINC Show Tag

Today Angie and I went to the PINC Tradeshow (Printing Industries of Northern California) which was held in San Francisco at the Hilton Hotel. This was our little piece of fun while Kathy and Rita where both on vacation in New York. Between the two of us we took classes in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop (both CS4), and Designing Backwards for Printing. We both agreed that we learned a good deal from the classes. Lots of tips and tricks, some new some old, but beneficial nonetheless. I even ran into my friend and old classmate from CSUMB, Joan.

Angie at Luncheon Lunch

During lunch break we found out that our boss had paid for us to get the luncheon provided at the hotel. AWESOME! A salad, chicken & veggies, even a fruit tart for dessert. They even had continental breakfast – muffins, breads, juices and coffee – in the morning before classes.

Dessert Bar!Flan in Waffle Cone

This is the dessert bar that was at the tradeshow during the evening. Not shown are the appetizers – sliders, grilled cheese, portabello sliders, pita bread and spreads, … pretty much DINNER! Wholey moley, and this custard waffle cone cup thing was sooooo delish! Angie and I stole the mini spoons cuz they were so cute.

GOOD DEAL! You know us and food, so we are ALL OVER IT! Next year when it comes to the PINC Tradeshow the whole team needs to go. Two thumbs up (with some mini spoons).

Butter’s Guide to Getting Breakfast

Butters Says FEED ME!

BUTTER’s GUIDE TO GETTING BREAKFAST:
Step 1: When you hear the morning alarm go off, stop whatever you are doing (even if you are in the middle of licking your balls) and run straight to human’s bedroom.
Step 2: Jump up onto the bed whilst making a purr-meow-like sound. Sound effect are necessary part of this step to ensure your arrival is noted.
Step 3: Be sure to walk over the bodies of your humans – this gets them up faster. If there is a lady, be sure to walk on her boobs because that spot seems to get the most reaction.
Step 4: Find a comfy spot on the chest of either male or female, and with your whiskers as close as possible to their nose, sniff their morning breath (added purr-meows here are recommended). Wait until this bothers them enough to wake them up. (Note: the alarm may go off several more times until this happens).
Step 5: Follow whoever gets up first. Don’t lose sight of them, and most importantly, don’t shut up. Meowing constantly is essential so they remember you are present and still need to be fed.
Step 6: If possible, stand in the way of whatever they are doing. I.e., if they are brushing teeth, jump up on the counter and walk back in forth between the sink and the human. You might get hit with toothpaste foam, but you’ll be sure to get attention.
Step 7: When humans are done getting ready and start heading down the stairs, this is your time to shine! Meow obnoxiously and try to fit as many meows into each breath as possible. Weave in and out of your humans feet as they descend the stairs – this keeps them agile and alert. Remember they are still sleepy and if you aren’t by their side they will forget to feed you!
Step 8: Usually you will get fed as soon as they are down the stairs but sometimes you have to wait for them to eat breakfast* or but on their shoes. Just remember to always keep in the way of things and meow until you are too tired to meow any longer. Food will come to those who are persistent!

Best of Luck,
Butters

*You can get bonus milk if human eats a bowl of cereal! Look out for my upcoming guide to “Obtaining Leftover Liquids”  — coming soon.

Potted Plants

Flowers

Flowers outside our office building. I think our neighbor got a good deal on them or something and is planning to have them planted around the common area. Doesn’t this remind you a bit of that Lowe’s commercial where the flowers are inching away from the store and onto the streets? =P It’s like they are ALIVE! Oh wait they are.

New York Anyone?

i <3 NY Cookie

Today’s Rita’s official 25th birthday and she is leaving tomorrow for a week to visit New York. Ironically our boss Kathy is also on vacation visting her son there. Today is also our Project Manager Theresa’s 25th wedding anniversary. Rita brought in these cute (and yummy) oatmeal raisin cookies. Eating way too much desserts lately! *sigh* =/ I really have little self-control when it comes to desserts or snacking. Binge! Why do desserts have so many stupid calories!

Our Very Own Puzzle

Anniversary Puzzle

This is the puzzle i created for Jeff’s 1-year anniversary present. Cardboard pieces fitting the “paper” theme of course!  Photos of us throughout the year appear on the left, and one of our favorite shots from our wedding at San Juan Oaks on the right. There are 756 pieces and it measures 16″ x 30″. We left the grass and the sky as the last parts to fill in since they were the hardest parts to complete. Even Butters made it into the collage! He even wanted to be a part of this photo — but i couldn’t let him block everything.

Sunday’s Accomplishments

Sunday's Accomplishments

Every Sunday i wake up and have such ambition to get things done, but then somehow someway, the day slips away and I only get a few things done. Today, what i got done was make some Rice Krispy Treats and wrap a couple of gifts. I was supposed to finish up some web work, practice cueing step, clean and organize the kitchen…. the list goes on. I did make some yummy French Onion Soup and Grilled Potatoes and Spinach Salad for dinner though. We love our new grill.

Rita’s Birthday Night

Michelle. Rita. Jolly.

Even though Jeff just came home from Oregon tonight, i decided to go out (without him) and celebrate Rita’s 25th birthday up at Club WET in San Jose. The venue was a new club, though i’d been there before when it was called Glo. The insides look a lot nicer than the old club, and the DJ was pretty good, better than Vivid in my opinion, thought they did repeat soe songs. It was a fun night, though i must say I saw some pretty skanky-ass girls up in that club. I guess a lot of people wear dresses to clubs nowadays? I am totally not comfortable with dancing in a club with a short dress on. Nonetheless, us girls had a lot of fun drinking & dancing (and the boys had fun too i guess? who knows, they were so quiet). Thanks and Happy Birthday to my friend/coworker/gym buddy Rita!
