Puppy Preston
Briana just got adopted and 8-week old puppy with her fiance Lazaro. OMG, he is the most adorable dog i have ever seen! His name is Preston and as you can see he is about as big as my purse. He had fun hanging out at our office today. Big adventure of the day was him getting stuck on a piece of tape attached to a shipping box! He started making tiny tiny barks. Oh so cute!
Putting America to Work
My commute from work to the gym now has about 15 minutes added to it because of road construction on Laurel. So stupid – what are they even doing to the road? I hate this sign too! It’s like, oh here – read this – we’re just putting America to work and making you sit in traffic longer. Till December 11th! Oh jeez. I think i need a detour!
A Year of 365
Today marks a year of doing the Project 365 – Picture a Day! Whoa baby, is it a lot of work! But defintely worth it. In honor of this day, Jeff took a photo of me taking a shot of Butters (the most covered subject matter, by far, i am sure).
And here is my point of view!
It is a sense of relief that i have officially completed the 365. I know my family would want me to continue this project since i know they check it almost daily, though oddly enough i rarely see any comments from them, *cough, cough*!! I will be continuing… though at some point it may have to be less everyday-ish and more every-other-day-ish because i keep getting so behind on updating the blog, and its very very time consuming in my already busy life! My hope for this year is to have a new layout for the blog, and hopefully get some more interaction from my readers!!!
Blind Me Not.
I can’t get the stupid curtains at work to move, and since the rotation of the earth relative to the sun has been changing… the sun blinds me in the eyes in the morning! So my solution – tape and paper. Worked out pretty well… but i might have to add more as the days go on. Least until daylight savings time shifts back.
Nice Kitties!
O’Neill Surf shop at the Boardwalk was having a big 40% off sale yesterday, so i bought this t-shirt. It makes me laugh.
Giant Dipper Ride
Jeff, Pat and I went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk today and rode the Giant Dipper. So much fun! Especially for me since i am in the seat with Jeff an the bar does not lock down on my lap. I hop out of the seat on all the drops!
Pat Visits, Eats Sushi
Pat came down yesterday from Eugene, Oregon. We decided to go out to sushi because Jeff said when he was visiting him earlier this year, that Pat wanted to go to sushi but he kindly declined and said he couldn’t go out to sushi without his wife since his “sushi quota” is very low. Awwww!!! So we went all went out to Oh! Sushi in Seaside. Sushi was pretty good, Jeff didn’t even have sushi (he had curry katsu and kal-bi with sashimi), but Pat and I stuffed ourselves. Oh!
And also – this photo is for Lisa – Happy Birthday from Pat and Jeff (and me and Butters, too)!
New Faucet and Sink
The plumber installed a new sink and faucet on the same day he installed the hot water return line. This faucet is by Kohler and is in brushed nickel – all the rage nowadays apparently. A little more costly, but i really like the fact that you can’t see water spots as much on it, and it also matches the shower door and the soap pump Patti gave me for my birthday.
Say Goodbye, Couch.
Jeff would like to dedicate this day to his big old burly brown couch that his served him well for the past several years. Tomrorow, Mr. Old Couch will be taken away in a truck, to be replaced by a new more contemporary (still brown though) couch with a chaise. Ohh la la, fancy!
This is NOT Soup.
I scrambled to prepare some dinner this morning before i left for work. I had all the ingredients to make a basic pot of chicken noodle soup, so i threw some frozen chicken, stock, onions, carrots and celery together in the slow cooker and left a box of macaroni noodles on the counter for Jeff to throw in when he got home from work. I emailed him in the afternoon to remind him and didn’t think twice.
When i come home from the gym, Jeff is in the kitchen, and i ask how the soup looks. He lifts the pot cover and…. BAM! The slow cooker is full of NOODLES! No SOUP! LOL, i was laughing so hard! I asked him how much noodles he put in and he said the box. The whole box? Yes, the whole box. Hmm, did he ever think that a whole box of noodles might be a little overkill if we are making SOUP? Just looking at the liquid to noodle ratio i would think one could ration that it was definitely not accommodating for a whole box of noodles… oi vay. Jeff apologized, and we ate the dinner anyway, though it was not what i intended it to be this morning. We both laughed about it all night. Next time i will specify exactly how MUCH noodles to put in a soup.
