Emma’s First Birthday
Emma turned the big 1 today! Here she is with her older sister Ellie eating her big birthday cake. Her party included a jump house, a bbq lunch, and St. Patrick’s day themed cupcakes and party favors. I helped her mom (Angie) bake the cupcakes and I loaned some baking gear. Angie used my frosting turn table for the first time… she says it works great! I can’t wait to try it myself now that i finally bought some cake pans. But at the moment I am sooo cupcaked-out. No more for a while.
Orlando Turns 30
Orlando turns thirty tomorrow (3/15)! We went to a hip bowling alley in San Jose to celebrate. Jeff and I shared a game and bowled a 112 together. The birthday boy won with a score of 124. I just realized that Jeff is born in the same year as as Orlando so he will be turning 30 this year too! Yikes!

When i came across this bizarre item in the Asian store I thought to myself that it looked like canned bugs. It wasn’t until i came home and uploaded the photo that i realized there was an English description on there Silkworms Chrysalis! Yum-o!

Had a meeting at Natividad Medical Center today. Weird light fixtures in their conference room. I’m guessing they save energy?
Carrie’s Birthday
Today is my friend Carrie’s Birthday. We met in our freshman year of college – we lived in the same dorm hall and had carpooled to golf class together. We lost touch after that year, but just recently ran into each other at the gym. Turns out her and her husband Roger live in our same apartment complex. We’ve become pretty good friends. Carrie was planning to have a little LOST party to celebrate her bithday, but then there was no new episode today so we decided to go to California Pizza Kitchen. I made some chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and sprinkles to celebrate her 26th year. Even Butters got in on the action and swiped some cupcake into his mouth while we weren’t looking.
Facebook is my Friend
I find it amusing that there was a whole long big article on what Facebook was in my Real Simple magazine that arrived in the mail today. All of a sudden it feels like Facebook is everywhere! Like the “Facebook + CNN Presidential Inauguration” and Facebook media coverage, and “my grandma is on Facebook” kind of thing. Leave it to social networking…
Trinkets
So recently i noticed the checkout stand at Safeway sells little trinkets for about 25 cents. They are always related to the next holiday, so right now St. Patrick’s Day. Can you say impulse buy! LOL. (No, i didn’t buy any)
Sierra-at-Tahoe
A day of snowboarding at Sierra-at-Tahoe. I still can’t go on my toe edge, damnit! But the sky was blue, weather was perfect and Jeff and I had a blast snowboarding with Roger and Carrie.
