Mrs. McGirrfins

Breakfast for dinner! Whole wheat english muffins topped with melted cheese, scrambled egg triangles, crispy bacon, deep fried hash browns slapped together with good ole’ heinz ketchup. Oh yeah!

Girls Day Mochi

Girls Day Mochi

Today is Girls Day (03/03) and I wanted to make some traditional tri-colored mochi. I’ve never made this version before and boy was it a challenge since i also decided to make a small batch! So splitting the batter three times on a 1/2 recipe was a bit if a stretch, but it turned out alright. Isn’t it pretty? Mmm. I used coconut milk for the liquid which makes it nice and rich tasting.

Creek + Bridge

Creek+bridge

Isn’t this a nice stroll as i walk from “overflow parking” to the gym? Yes really.

Wasabi Gumballs

Wasabi Gumballs

Jeff bought me some Wasabi Gumballs as a stocking stuffer for Christmas and they’ve been sitting in our candy jar untouched since then! Yesterday Torie and Orlando came over and I dared the guys to try it. Turns out its pretty tame compared to the tin’s graphic description. They also claim it tastes like stale gum (well is is at least 3 months old!). Oh yummy! No need for me to try it, i’ll just take a picture.

Grandpa’s Birthday

Grandpa's Birthday Card

My Grandpa was technically (or should i say physically…? LOL) born on a leap day – February 29, 1920. But since this was “back in the day” his birthday wasn’t recorded on paper until March 2nd. So even though his “real” birthday only happens every four years, he still has another birth date to fall back on for those other years. Bit confusing, yes. My mom reminded me it was his birthday only a couple days ago so I had to rush and make him this birthday card today, but i took too long and by the time i was done i had missed the mail. Oh well, it would have been late anyway! I folded a paper crane and placed it on a sky & grass backdrop so that it springs open like a pop up card. The outside is a plain gray sparkly card with a ribbon that snaps down.

Turbo Kick Certification

Turbo Kick Certification

I got my certification in the mail today. I PASSED! There are three rankings – Gold, Pass, and In-Training. Most people get Pass, exceptional performances get a Gold and people who need more practice get In-Training. I’m happy with my results for the most part. There were 10 different areas of testing and i got 3 Golds and 7 Passes. I’ve been practicing my cueing at home and hopefully after I practice in front of a real class a few times i’ll be able to sub some classes here and there.

Jilly Chat

Jilly Chat

Jill got a new computer from Mom and Dad recently. Up until then I think she had been using my really old half-broken iBook with the non-functioning screen she inherited as a hand-me-down. Yikes that was in 2001!  I’m not sure why they bought it for her. I think because she was in the market for a “real” job and needed it for job hunting. Jill has since decided though that she is going to go back to school and become a Dental Hygienist. Good for her, you go girl! I’m glad Jill finally has a computer with internet so that we can chat online since we don’t ever talk over the phone. She always cracks me up its so amazing how different us three girls are. I miss my sisters!

Point & Shoot

Point & Shoot

Project365 is hard. I can’t possible have new and exciting things to take photos of EVERY SINGLE DAY can i? CAN I? OK, so i thought, i’ll just take a picture of my camera! Brilliant! This lil baby has been with me since April 2006. (Why does it feel like its been way longer than that?) It comes with me everywhere in my purse and i don’t put it in any sort of protective case so it’s got a bazillion scratches on it. Still takes good photos though! I can’t seem to give it up. Its only downfall is that is kinda fat compared to the thin beauties they have out nowadays. *Sigh* my camera needs a diet.

Naughty Naughty Pet

Stuffed Animals

This orange guy caught my eye in the vending machine at Denny’s. His tag said he was a Naughty Naughty Pet. I wonder how many animals in here make it home per week? And I wonder how much money Denny’s actually makes off this. It’d be interesting to know.
