Attic Memories
Time to clean out the attic! We will all miss this place very much. It served as REALLY COOL clubhouse, storage space, and adventure-crawl space for the kitty! Though also bad memories of Butters eating rat poison up here. Least we think so. Anyway, it served us well, we’ll be sad to go but will have many more memories in the new house!
Sofia’s 2nd Birthday Party
Sofia had her 2nd birthday party today at her house in San Mateo! Taylor made a pretty princess cake and some awesome-looking as well as awesome-tasting appetizers. Tehani came along to the party and it was like a mini-girl scout reunion since Jessica was there too. We were all in girl scouts together back in Hawaii with Taylor’s mom being our troop leader. My how things have changed! Jessica has a daughter who is 2 1/2 and a second one on the way. Sofia had a great time opening presents and singing and dancing with her party balloons. She got so many presents – mainly a kid-sized playhouse and a trampoline. Lucky girl!
We Got the Keys!
Close of escrow today, we got the key to the house. The title deed recorded today, August 28th, 2009. So it is officially “ours”! Just have to wait to get the tent off the house.
Smoke from Soledad Fire
California wildfires are everywhere. Driving home from the gym saw the smoke from the Soledad fire. I believe the media was calling it the Gloria fire.
Lost Doggie
Random dog comes up to me while i’m walking into work this morning. It’s all dirty and nasty and no collar. Don’t know whose dog it was. I just went on my way. Haha. I’m such a cat person.
Gummi Worms Reincarnated
I bought some sour gummi worms, and left them in the car so i wouldn’t scarf them down at work. Well bad idea, since the weather has been so hot lately, they melted together. Though doesn’t it look like a rainbow shave ice now? MmmM!!
Angie’s Birthday Breakfast
Schipper crew went to breakfast this morning to celebrate Angie’s birthday. We let he open her gifts. I gave her a Wii game since she mentioned she has a wii but hardly has games. Elebits is my all time fave! Soon after we returned from breakfast, Angie had to go get her daughter from school because she was sick. So that meant we didnt get to sing happy birthday to her and eat her snickers cupcakes together! Big bummer.
Snickers Cupcakes
Baked some yummy snickers cupcakes for Angie’s birthday. I thought long and hard about how i wanted to do this. I vacillated between a chocolate cake, with caramel frosting, a chocolate peanut butter swirl cake, vanilla frosting, chocolate-vanilla swirl cake, yellow cake, chocolate frosting, peanut butter frosting. The combinations were endless. I ended up baking a white cake with a chocolate peanut butter buttercream frosting, with sliced up snickers on the inside and outside. Snickers is Angie’s favorite candy bar – at least a i think so – she seems to eat a king size one at work almost everyday! (High metabolism this girl).

Cutting up the snickers. Helps to stick them in the fridge so they aren’t as sticky. Frosting the cupcakes using a ziploc bag, it works perfect, just cut a hole at the edge and throw the bag away when done. The frosting was originally chocolate, but i added in some chunky peanut butter to emulate more of the snickers taste.
The snickers on the inside sunk to the bottom as expected, but it was still a yummy surprise. Two thumbs up from everyone who was lucky enough to taste one!
Raiders @ 49ers
Jeff and I went to a pre-season football game with Roger and Carrie at Candlestick park. We were celebrating Roger’s birthday. We did a semi-tailgate in the car before the game. Man, parking was a bizatch! And there were so many ghetto-ass people at the game yelling “rayyyddderrrrs” and then of course the niners fans yelling back “niiinnerrrs”. Lots of cops at this game, and a guy even ran onto the field and got tackled to the ground. 49ers ended up winning. Woo hoO!
VHS Tapes
Starting to clean out the closets and get ready for our move. Look what i came across – some old VHS tapes. Most of these movies aren’t too old – a majority bought used at Hollywood Video around the time when i first started going to college. People were still migrating to DVDs. My favorite movie is Somewhere in Time. Now THATs an old movie! I think it was made before i was born.
