Project 365 – Day 20 – Finished Box

Gift Card Box for Torie (AFTER)

I finished the gift card box! It took forever for me to figure out how to wrap it since the orange paper i had wasn’t enough to wrap it in the traditional way. It looks simple, but it really took a while and several trips to the store since I ran out of double stick tape. I love the flowers on top!

Project 365 – Day 19 – Poor Fishie

Fish

I had to clean the fish tank today, so I snapped a bunch of photos of the fish before doing so. After I finished syphoning and squeeging, I replaced the filter and added some fresh water. Well, I think something must have gone wrong during this process because right now my fish is lying down sideways on the floor of the tank, breathing heavily. I also noticed he has a scab on his side which was not there before. This must have happened just now, since I was watching how she gets sudden bursts of energy and swins againist the rock and bumps into the side of the tank.

This is exactly how Anuenue (my previous African Cichlid of the same coloring) died.. it was after i cleaned the tank, and he laid on his side for a while with sudden bursts of clumsy swimming.

Tomorrow morning i’m expecting a dead fish. Meanwhile, Jeff is out to Orlando’s bachelor party in Reno.

Honey – I killed the fish while you were gone!

Project 365 – Day 18 – A Perfect Box

Gift Card Box for Torie (BEFORE)

Torie asked if I could help her create a gift card box for her wedding on November 1st, similar to the one I made for my wedding.

I found this perfectly sized box at Save Mart today. I plan to work on this more tomorrow. You’ll see the final product in a few days.

San Juan Bautista

San Juan Bautista

I brought my DSLR camera with me to work today, and after I got off, I walked around town snapping photos. This shot is of a dove hanging out on top of the mission roof. He caught my eye because he was cooing so loud.

Chicken and her ChicksSan Juan Bautista

Here are the town chickens! I love them. They were running like mad crazy, so it was hard to get a good shot. There where a couple of hatches of baby chicks that were so cute but so loud! They go “cheep-cheep-cheep” times 12!

Hanging out next to the chickens were – believe it or not – a whole crew of cats and kittens. They were a little shy. There must have been about 6 or so of them all hanging out in front of this house.

I also got some nice shots of different kinds of fences, old buildings, and the mission.

I think i’m getting to know my camera a bit better now, but still have a lot to learn and experiment with.

Project 365 – Day 16 – Alien!

Alienware

Playing with my DSLR camera’s shutter speed. This photo is of Jeff’s Alienware computer power button. I also took a few photos of the lights outside, the TV, and the router. This is the picture I liked the most out of the bunch.

Project 365 – Day 15 – Furry Visitor

A Furry Friendly Visitor

While at work today, we left the back door open since it was getting a little toasty. Angie tells me to look at the door, and I glance over and see a gray and white cat strolling in the door. He came in and meowed hello, visited every one of us at our desk, and Ann our bookkeeper let him out the front door. What a cute cat. Hope he visits tomorrow!

Project 365 – Day 14 – 8:19PM

8:19

Today I arrived home 12 hours later than I left in the morning for work. An average day in the life of me. I’m usually out of the house before 8:30am if its a good day. Drive up to San Juan Bautista for work, stay for 8 hours, drive back to Salinas to the the gym, stay for an 1-2 hours, drive to Safeway for groceries, then drive home!

Project 365 – Day 13 – Garlic Rolls

Tomatino's Garlic Rolls

YUMMY! Patti, Torie and I stopped by in Walnut Creek for lunch. Though it took forever to find a place to eat, we decided on a cute place called Tomatina’s which had amazingly-good-but-bad-for-you garlic rolls! They were crispy on the outside, covered with roasted/fried minced garlic, herbs and parmasean cheese. Oh, delightful.

Project 365 – Day 12 – Wine Tasting

Miner Winery

Me, Lexi, Torie, Patti and Bevin at Miner Family Vineyards, the last stop on our Wine Tour. I couldn’t get over the gorgeous view… even though I don’t like wine, it was definetly fun to see the different wineries and take in such lovely scenery.

Project 365 – Day 11 – Mucho Margaritas

Margarita

Patti, Torie and I drove up to Napa for Torie’s Bachelorette Party weekend. First stop – Chevy’s in Vallejo for some margaritas and dinner! Torie’s drink is huge!
