CalFest Award Plaque
Today we got the award plaques from the CalFest competition. I’m grateful for the award, but this seriously is a a very sad-looking plaque to give to a designer. The CalFest ribbon logo is terribly pixelated and look at all the fonts going on! Seriously?
Condor Classic Web Site Wins Award
Today we found out that Schipper Design+ won the two first place awards for best logo design and best web site design for the Condor Classic. The award was given by CalFest – an organization for California festival and event promoters. Who knew this relatively simple web site would win an award? Maybe it was the animated cyclists that dazzled them.
Apple Deformation
Normally I eat an apple a day. OK- maybe every other day. I like to eat it with peanut butter for breakfast or my mid-morning snack. I love it when the apple is super sweet and juicy and it has that transparent color to it in the core. Today’s apple looked a little funky. Guess it decided to grow over it’s own stem.
Golden Raspberries
Have you ever seen these? Weird!
Jewelry Relocation
My jewelry has always been set up in the bathroom next to my sink, but i noticed all my silver stuff tarnished really quickly because of the steam from the shower. Today I FINALLY moved the racks and jewelry containers over to the second bedroom with the walk-in closet. Much better!
Sony Bravia HD TV
We got a new 40″ Sony Bravia Flat Panel LCD HD TV! We bought it at Best Buy, and it was an open box, returned item but still brand new and nothing wrong with it. Which actually worked out to our favor since my Corolla probably would not fit the TV with the box. First movie I watched on it was Back to the Future! It looks great and its sooo big. We had to reconfigure all of our DVR recordings to be the HD versions wherever possible. Most all our shows are available in HD so that is awesome. Finally we are taking advantage of our HD service from Comcast.
Grossness in the Fridgerator
Earlier this week some leftover margarita mix split in the fridge, and all over the kitchen floor, so I told myself I would clean our the entire fridge this weekend. Take a look at the grossness in the vegetable drawer! Last time i probably cleaned the fridge was before we got married, heck maybe even before we were engaged! Though I thought we cleaned up all the margarita mix on the day it split, I found out after i took this picture that the whole bottom of the fridge below the drawer was filled with liquid. EWWWwww. Dirty!!
Dartboard
This dartboard was originally $10 from Target. I saw them pushing it during Christmas and contemplated buying one because I thought it was cheap. Then this week it went on sale for 75% off! $3 for a dartboard? That was just too good to pass up! Though now we can’t seem to find a good spot for it on the wall, so it is just leaning up againist the wall for now.
Wasabi Arare
I am totally addicted to these wasabi rice crackers. I have my mom send them to me in the mail from Hawaii. Some of them have more hotness than the others and it totally goes up your nose! I love the green color of them. Today I brought them to work as a snack along with my manapua from Costco. Mmm, mmm. I miss Hawaii food.
Broken Slowcooker
While washing the slow cooker today, I accidentally whacked it against the side of the sink and it broke into a few pieces. So sad! I guess I will have to look and see if they sell replacement pots.
