Salt + Pepper Tomatoes
Mom used to keep salted sliced tomatoes in the fridge for me to snack on when I lived at home. Sort of like pickled tomatoes, but fresh. So yummy! Today I brought some topped with salt AND pepper for mid-afternoon nosh at work. I love my cute little containers that i found in the baby aisle at Target! I picked the green color specifically this morning to match the red tomatoes. Color coordinate, you know it!
Beaded Chicken
Kathy, with some help from her grandaughter, decorated this wonderful chicken with only little itty bitty seed beads and glue. My favorite part is the yellow and black chicks hiding out from under the momma. I’m not sure of all the details, but i think the chicken will be auctioned off along with other entries during the annual San Juan Bautista Chicken Festival.

Spoiled Bithday Girl
I wanted to document all of the wonderful birthday gifts i received for my 26th birthday!
From the left to right:
Wen Hair Products – Mom
I guess this is a mail-order hair product line that celebrities use. I still have to try it. I am almost out of hair product so perfect timing!
Incredible Desserts – Briana
Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes + Cupcake gift bag – Kathy
Both my coworker and boss bought me a cookbooks on desserts! They know i am cupcake queen, so very fitting. They said they will be anxiously awaiting my first recipe attempt from these books. =)
Hello Kitty Tupperware – Jill
I was mentioning to my sister over chat one day that i wanted more cute lunch box containers to take my lunches in. She mailed me this along with some Taj-branded Honey Balls that were flavored melon, grape, and some other weird flavors!
Hello Kitty Key Chain Cover – Rita
How cute is this! There is another blue one i already put on my home key.
Charm Bracelet – Lisa & Mike
Jeff’s parent’s got me this pretty silver and gold bracelet. I especially love the way that it looks like a cord but it’s made out of a silver material and the way it hangs down on your hand.
Recipe Box + Coupon Organizer – Rita
What could be better than retro birdie designs and containers to organize stuffs!
Water Bottle + Carrier + Lunch Bag – Mom
Mom knows i go to the gym a lot so she bought me a reusable water jug and a snug sleeve to keep the water cold and keep it from sweating. She also got this handy lunch bag from an Office supply store. I use it everyday Mom i love it!
Not pictured:
Workout Tops – Rita
My gym buddy/coworker knows I need to look stylish at the gym as a group ex instructor AND gym rat.
Adidas Shoes – Jeff
I went to the outlet malls and picked out two pairs of much needed shoes! 1 pair of "cold-weather" trail running shoes in grey and green and 1 pair of regular running shoes in pink and blue.
Bath Stuff + Top + Necklace + Makeup Bag – Patti
Patti always sends me Bath and Body Works for my birthday, so i can restock my shelves without going to the store myself! How perfect. Also a pretty blue flower necklace, 2 makeup bags, and a purple ruffled top.
Cranium Board Game – John
OMG best gift ever – Cranium is a game that i’ve played quite a few times now with Bonnie and Kyle. This version is apparently the "WOW" Edition – meant for adults, and something like 66% more fun! WHOA now.
I think that is it. Hope i’m not missing anybodies gift. I got some moolah of course from my fam bam which is going straight into our CD to save for our house! THANKS EVERYONE for the birthday gifts.
Oh! Sushi.
Since I’ve been so busy this week teaching group exercise (i taught every single day of this week), Jeff asked me out on a sushi date for tonight! We planned on going to a new resturant in Seaside called Oh! Sushi. I was surprised to discover they have the same menus as Ninja Sushi.
We ordered a Hungry Roll (salmon, tuna, cali roll), Pacific Roll (coconut shrimp, cali roll), Beef Yakisoba (fried noodles), and a side salad. The food was good, a decent price, and came out really fast. Though service at the end of our meal was rather slow. They also gave us a free end-of-dinner appetizer thing that was a type of mushroom in a sweet sauce.
Their dipping sauce was not soy sauce — it was like a combo of tempura sauce and soy sauce. I concluded by the end of the night they must do this because a lot of their rolls are deep fried, or have a shrimp tempura inside of it. All in all, a good place and we’ll probably go back again.
Death by Twitter
So in today’s world news travels through twitter! Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on this day.
Deformed Carrots
These deformed carrots were hanging out in my ziploc bag at work all week, and i’ve been avoiding eating them until today. I had already ate up all the normal carrots so these were the last to be consumed!
Silver Dollar Plant
Kathy pointed out that there was a silver dollar plant growing outside our office. The branches on the left is what comes from the plant. You take the leaf part between your thumb and index fingers and slide off the outer layers and seeds to reveal a thin silver leaf – shown on the right. Very pretty like something you might purchase at a home decor store except for it was growing right outside in the ground.
Hello Kitty Key Chain
This is my Hello Kitty key chain holder that Rita gave me for my birthday. I placed it on my house key, though it hardly ever gets used because i always come in through the garage door. But least it looks cute.
I had to get rid of my star mirror and Coach leather key chain because i was lugging arund way too many key chains. I only have my car key + remote, the office key, and my house key. I think i had more keychains compared to keys! Plus, all these keychains are quite old, it was due for a switch up. Hope my new kitty likes it’s new home.
Emergen-C
Since i’ve been sick all week with a cold, i’ve been trying to be religious about drinking my Emergen-C drink daily. It is full of B-vitamins and provides 1,000% of your daily recommended intake of vitamin C. Flavored tangerine, it doesn’t taste too bad and is about 20 calories per serving. I like it better than Airborne and it might even be a little cheaper. I read the package and I got the impression they want consumers to drink this everyday, regardless if you think your are or are currently sick. Hmm, got me thinking about drinking it more often, just to get vitamins since i don’t do a daily multi-v pill or anything.
