Organizing the Office
Look at the various artworks i found while organizing the office. The flower drawing was in an envelope labeled to my aunt and uncle – guess that never got mailed! The Woodstock photo was something i painted for fun while i was living with Torie. The charcoal smudges was for my capstone logo project for the Marina Arts Council. The girl with the headset is a drawing that Jeff did for my birthday card this year (i love it!).
AFAA Certification
Today I took the Primary Group Exercise Certification from AFAA at Golds Gym. I think i did pretty good. I accidentally did a Turbo Kick move called the “wheel” in my practical assessment, without thinking, and then i realized it was an unsupported lateral movement! Uh oh! I am just hoping they didn’t catch that. I think i pretty much aced the written test though. We shall find out in 4-6 weeks.
Old Lady Clothes
In them mail today, we received a funny surprise — a catalog to NATIONAL (addressed to the previous owner). Ok so now THIS is where all the old ladies get their clothes! Omigod… i was horrified. Sweater vests, jean dresses, stretchy pants, granny panties, you name it. And dude, what the hell is a Model’s coat? Real models do not wear such hideous clothes! I think its actually sleepwear/loungewear. But still. Aren’t these models a little young to be wearing such fuddy-dutty clothes. Please, take it away, its burning my eyes!
My Dresser.. aka the “Chest”
Our final piece of furniture was delivered today – the “Chest”. Why is it called a chest anyways, lets just call it dresser… anyways… this took a couple months to get to us since it was back-ordered. I filled it all up with underwear, socks, sports bras, tanks, workout pants, and skirts! MAN – do i have a lot skirts. A handful still have the tag on them. A lot of skirts are hard for me to wear because: 1) it’s too cold 2) i don’t shave my legs 3) they are too short 4) they are not appropriate for work. But they are so cute! Guess i’ll just shove them in the drawer!
Yankees Win the World Series
Woohoo! Yankees win the 2009 World Series! Jeff tries to teach Butters how to give a high-five. But he ain’t havin’ none of that.

New Vanity / Dresser
Talked with my Mom earlier this week and she mentioned i hadn’t posted any photos of our new furniture – so here is one. Our vanity/dresser set. I decorated it with our wedding photos, sand, and candles.
Sunday Adventures: Shop, Launder, Study
Tehani and I made plans earlier in the week to go to Salinas Northridge Mall for some clothes shopping. She came over at about 1:30 and we went to Forever 21 and Aeropostale. I bought a cheap dress, tights, 2 pairs of jeans, 2 shirts and a belt, and Tehani only bought a shirt. She let me use one of her coupons so that was a nice score. When we got home she bought stuff online since it was actually cheaper than in store. I bought some fake ugg boots that are cute with a little bow… and a lot cheaper online! So I am excited to see those come in the mail.
Tehani got some laundry done, and she and I studied for school and AFAA group exercise certification respectively. I think we got in a good 2 hours of studying or so, not bad. Jeff was watching the Yankees game — they won! Was an exciting game. Made some hamburgers and sweet potato fries for dinner. Yum yum! All in all, a fun productive day, especially since daylight savings time ended today and we gained an hour.
Halloween Pumpkins and Cookies
Happy Halloween! Jeff had his pumpkin plan days in advance… NY Yankees all the way. I on the other hand, spent a good hour looking at ideas online and ended up with this lame ghost. I like the way it came out just didn’t seem to original or particularly hard to carve. But I am happy with it. Yankees won their game tonight! Jeff laughed at some trick-or-treaters giving him crap about Phillies winning the series. We got a lot more trick-or-treaters than we expected. We ran out of candy at about 8pm. We probably ate a good 1/3 of the candy we intended for trick-or-treaters, so if we didnt eat any we probably would have had enough. Next year: buy candy we hate. Which of course, is not much! Almond Joys maybe?
Earlier this morning i taught a turbo kick class and made some halloween cat cookies to take to our neighbors. Jeff helped out with the cutting and decorating.
Arent they so cute! I love the whiskers and the skeletons which were both Jeff’s idea. He thinks he isnt creative but he totally is! We had so much fun baking and decorating these. We walked over to our neighbors and introduced ourselves. It is a lady Katherine, that lives there with her son Greg.
We walked over to the other neighbors but they were not home. Jeff has already met them before but can’t remember their names, and i only met the lady once before we officially bought the house. We were going to take the cookies over later, but (of course) ended up scarfing down the whole plate of cookies before we got a chance. Guess i’ll have an excuse to bake another time!
Monster Glow
I went to Paula’s Zumba Glow class – Zumba in the dark with glowsticks! It was so much fun! I think part of the fun for me was other people not seeing what a dork i am and me being able to groove with lights on my wrists and neck. When i got home, Jeff and I played with long exposures. He created this MONSTER!
