Snip Snap Gardening
Jeff does a quick job of his yard work chores, and i sneak a photo from the sun room.
Saimin for the Cold
I’d been feeling a cold coming on since Sunday, and finally yesterday it hit me good! My nose was a waterfall all during work, so today i decided to take it easy and call in sick. Yummy breakfast/lunch i made saimin with shoyu spam! Mom gave me the hot pad the pot is sitting on. (Yes i eat it straight from the pot!) Isn’t it sooo retro? Somebody hand made it. I kinda like it!
Yes, More Music! (+ pen)
Got new music for my step class.. and it came with a free pen!
Butters’ ID Tag
We finally bought Butters an ID tag with his name, and our phone numbers on it. Looked all over the internet for the best deal and cutest one. There were some sparkly-bling-bling ones but Jeff vetoed, so we settled on an orange star.
Mini Butters
Jeff made a trip to the store during the holidays (thats a rare occurrence!) and he bought some butter that was in 1/2 sticks. Look at how cute they are!
Aloha Sign
We bought this at Waimea Fall’s Gift Shop and placed it at our foyer.
Wallpaper Must Come Down
Today we tackled another home improvement project – removing the wallpaper strip in the hall bathroom and office. My parents had bought us the wallpaper stripper supplies when they were here back in September but we just now got to doing it. It came off relatively easy. There are some pretty deep cuts in the drywall now though, because we mis-read the instructions and cut through it with a blade when we probably didn’t need to… but we’re gonna paint over it anyway so its not a big deal. Next step, addressing the popcorn ceiling so we can move on to painting.
New Car Seat Covers
New car seat covers for my Corolla from the Mililani Wal-Mart. These are made of wet suit material, versus my old ones where were made of cotton and started ripping after 3 years of use. I like that the new ones are the same color, and now MORE DURABLE! Though the look kinda funny now, after just putting them on, They need to get worn in so that they don’t pucker like that.
Napkin Holder
Grandma gave me this napkin holder she had that she said she didn’t want. I forgot that we actually needed another one to put on our living room dining table, since the other one we had stays on the real dining table. Its kinda pink and probably not something i’d pick out, but serves its function.
Resolutions
It’s the new year and time for another set of resolutions. Looking back from last year, i pretty much accomplished everything on my list. Didn’t even realize it until just now, so that makes me feel really good.
#1 – Paint the Interior of the House
This year, house decorating and updating is top priority. Of course there is no real rush, and we have a great start so far, but on the other hand it seems like the list is so long that it may be eternity until we get the house just how we want it. For instance, we can’t really paint the interior of the house until we remove our possibly asbestos ridden popcorn ceiling. Other house to-do items is to install hardwood floors throughout the house, and get the finicky hot water heater working properly.
#2 – Wash Dishes Right After Mealtime
This is a real problem in our house. Usually the dishes pile up in the sink until i clean them on Saturday. Maybe it will get done once during the week. Not good, i hate seeing them sit there but once they start piling it becomes an intimidating task. Of course it is so much easier to do the dishes as they come and don’t let the stank on them crust.
#3 – Teach Another Group Exercise Class
I only teach one regular weekly step class and one monthly turbo kickboxing class at Fitness Unlimited. My goal is to get another weekly class – possible at another gym – so i can continue to get better at being comfortable in front of the class and teaching group exercise.
#4 – Start my Cooking Club
Almost forgot about this one! I want to start a cooking club with my friends where we cook different foods and then share them together at a meal. Been spending January recouping from the holidays but hopefully in February we can start an action plan.
