Birdies Have a Home

Wedding Birds

Over the weekend i was on a rampage cleaning and organizing my office and came across our wedding cake birds stuffed in a box. So i went online and found a dome case for them to live in. Today the box arrived in the mail and i promptly put the birds on display. For now they will live on Jeff’s desk in the living room, but not sure if it will be their permanent home. There is also a bouquet of flowers that goes with this that i forgot to put in there for the photo.

Shampoos for All Yous

Shampoos

Do you ever notice the plethora of shampoo choices you have nowadays? OK, before it used to be like, shampoo for normal hair, or shampoo color treated hair. And that was probably it.

Today i looked at Herbal Essences and notice just how far their packaging has come from their original flowery see-through bottle. Now they have vibrant colors and funky names:

I got this last one… Tousle Me Softly. Figured it sounded good for my wavy hair. We’ll see how it works.

East Meets West

East Meets West V-Chat

Jeff and I gave his parents a Logitech web cam for Christmas so we could video chat like we do with my family in Hawaii. Today we finally connected up using Skype. They came in picture perfect! We talked about their upcoming trip in April. Can’t wait to show them our new house.

Proud Mama to Baby Orchids

Orchid

Saturday is when i water the orchid plants that sit at my window sill in the kitchen. This plant just started to bloom all of sudden when we moved into the new house and when my parents where here. Mom look at all the flowers! I’m happy to be the mother of this plant! Haha… Kathy gave this plant to me probably over a year and a half ago… can’t remember the occasion but this is the first time it’s bloomed since then.

Nerd Seperation

Nerd Seperation

Bought a big box of Nerds at the movie theater yesterday but didn’t break them open until today. Jeff and I were excited about the Rainbow-ness of the Nerds, but after consumption realized they really only taste good when they are by themselves instead of collaged together. So we set out to divide the Nerds one by one!

21st = Diane

Umbrella Fun

It’s a Thursday but i didnt go to Sandy’s step class today! Call me crazy….

Today is also the 21st of the month and i’ve decided, after reading another person’s 365 blog, that every 21st day of the month (my day of birth) i will take a self portrait. Good way to reflect and be sure i get myself in a photo at least once a month.

It’s been raining nonstop for days now! Thought it’d be fun to pose with my trusty personal umbrella that looks quite jappy. Big fan of the jappy.

After the “photoshoot” Jeff and i went to see Avatar 3D!

3d Glasses DudeMovie Junk Food

Here’s Jeff in the fancy glasses, and our $27.00 worth of snacks! What can i say, the movie rocked. Wish my computer screens were tactile and see-through like those in 22nd Century. And that whenever i walked anywhere i’d leave a glow-in-the-dark path. *sigh* maybe some day….

Suspicious Briefcase

Wooden Briefcase

Random… found this hiding out behind the indoor plant at the gym. It looks to be a briefcase made of solid wood and a metal handle with strange numbers printed on it. My guess is that they use this for some martial arts or something, but i wasn’t aware they still had those classes at this gym anymore. WEIRD!

Power Outage

Candle Lighted Mantle

Power went out for a few hours tonight, due to the endless rain storm raging outside. Jeff was excited because he could finally have a legitimate excuse to light a fire (he has been asking for weeks) but i told him to wait while i did some work from home first. By the time i was done, the lights went back on! But we lit some candles left over from our wedding and placed them throughout the house for some lighting.

Flower Decor

New Flower Decor

Went to Michaels this weekend and stumbled upon a $2 vase… found some real-enough looking flowers to go in them (that – i might add – were NOT cheap). I was intending for these to go in the guest bedroom, but figured they would get more stares placed at the mantle in the living room. Added some beaded branches around the bottom of the vase to make it pop. Voila! Man, am i Martha freakin Stewart or what! … kidding…

The At-Home Haircut!

Hair Clippings

So one day Jeff says – “Hey, honey, can you please cut my hair?” and inside myself i say, holy crap no!!!! But i entertain him and go online to buy some razors and scissors. I scour Amazon for hours to find the perfect hair-cut kit. I watch multiple how-to videos, including my favorite “How to cut your man’s hair”. I watch, i learn… i say “I am ready”.

Today is the day that will live in infamy! We put on his garbage bag cape, attach a towel “just like how they do it in the salon”, click on the razor and bzzzz my way through his overgrown mane. OK, there was a bit of hesitation, a bit of, well, yelling on both parties. After a tedious half-hour session, the end results were … not so pretty.

Jeff refused a photo. We got the “before” shot, but the “after” i could not obtain. Here lies the evidence the haircut ever took place. Jeff thanked me and said he’d go to the salon the next day and get it fixed.

So much for at-home haircuts. Next time, he’ll just pay the $10.
