Placemats

Placemats

While Jeff’s parents were visiting, they noticed our lack of place mats for our new dining table. So while we were out in Carmel they were nice enough to buy us some as a housewarming present. They are really lovely – and nice an thick quality too.

Back It Up

Backing Up

I need a Firewire 400 to 800 converter before i can start transferring my files from my desktop to my new iBook… so meanwhile i thought it might be a good idea to finally back-up all of my music in iTunes onto CDs. They have a back-up method that is very easy to use.

New MacBookPro

Butters Sniffs

Since my Desktop Mac G3 PowerPC is so out of date (Apple’s now come with Intel processors) i can’t update to any new software programs on my old computer. I wasn’t sure if wanted a new desktop to replace my 2005, or a new laptop to replace my 2002 iBook. Did some research and discovered that they just released (like a week ago) a new MacBookPro laptop. So there! It was decided to get a new laptop.

We bought it at the Monterey Apple store… ended up costing about $2,000 but we got a Time Capsule back-up / wireless router and a new printer – both of which were needed purchases. Also bought the iWork software suite though i don’t know why i did that since i don’t really need it. (Sales people!)

Here it is in the box. Gotta love Apple’s product packaging. Always every detail is thought of.

We all love it!

Who’s Parked in the Driveway?

Who's Parked in the Driveway?

Came back from the gym and Pat’s parked in the driveway, so i couldn’t drive the ‘rolla in there. Its ok though, i got a cool capture of his Volvo along with an apologetic shrug from Jeffrey. He moved my car in for me afterwards. So its all good.

(This photo – i have no idea when i took it and its driving me bonkers. I dont have a photo for this day, and so by default i’m putting it in for his day. My new “love” — the Hipstamatic — doesn’t capture the date of the photo taken! BS!)

Theresa: 1 mile to go!

1 mile to go

Theresa’s last chemotherapy treatment is today! She made it! Now we wait to see if it killed the cancer like it was supposed to…

Jeff and Pat Lounge

Patrick and Jeff Lounge

Pat is still with us. Stole a snapshot of the boyz loungin’. I love my new Hisptamatic iPhone App!. This photo reminds me of a print ad or something. I like composition and the lighting coming from the lamp.

Fragrant Anniversary Flowers

2nd Anniversary Flowers

These are Jeff’s flowers to me for our 2 year wedding anniversary. They are so big and pretty! And very fragrant…

2nd Anniversary: Cotton

Cotton Candy

This is my anniversary gift to Jeff for 2 years. I LOVE YOU BABY! Mmm, cotton candy. Nice and sugary. Actually, we’re supposed to get a new quilt for our “cotton” anniversary, but haven’t been able to find any nice ones. If i were really the homemaker i would sew one… uh…. YEAH RIGHT.

Dang, so really though, were do we get a nice non-cheesy quilt? Something kinda contemporary? We’re tired of down comforters that just puff up into one big ball on one end, then a bunch of empty sheet on the other end.

A Day in Carmel-by-the-Sea

The Hills are Alive!

On Jeff’s parent’s last day we went ot Carmel-by-the-Sea. We stopped by the Hogsbreath Inn for lunch. The setting was very unique… an outdoor courtyard with a big wall mural painting of green hills and sky. The tree up top is real, as is the ivy bush. Made me want to jump inside the painting. Our able was made from a big slab of tree bark. The food was good too!

Afterwards, we split up and the kiddos went to the beach (Pat, Jeff and I) while his parents went shopping. It was such a beautiful day! Perfect weather. We are lucky to live where we live.

Carmel

Gran Fondo

McGirr Crew

Today was the big day for Mike! He was going to do a 45 mile bicycle ride from Laguna Seca though Fort Ord, to the coast and back. He started early, about 7am i believe, and the rest of us met up with him at a point in Pebble Beach to cheer him on at about 9am. If my memory serves me correctly i think he finished at about 11am or so.

Central Coast

While he was finishing the bike ride, Jeff, Pat and I went to Point Lobos and walked one of the wheelchair accessible routes. I am always so amazed we live in such a beautiful place after visiting here.

Sun Umbrella

After the hike we headed back home to wait for Mike. It was another fabulous day, and i thought we should break out Patti’s umbrella that she gave us for Christmas that we hadn’t even taken out of the box yet. For some reason i thought it was all red but i was glad to see it had more white on it than red (I was afraid of fading).

Jeff and Pat threw around a frisbee and nerf ball in the yard, and basically just hung out for the rest of the afternoon… ordered a pizza for dinner then called it a night.
