Cupcake Gift Set

Cupcake Set

Angie gave me an unexpected present! It is a cute cupcake set with a recipe book, decorative cupcake liners, stencils, and frosting tubes and tips. She said she saw it at the store and thought of me. I guess some baking will be in order soon! I’m excited because i usually just make cupcakes from the premixed boxes, but the recipes in the cookbook look delicious.

Care Package

Care Package

Mom sent me some goodies! Teriyaki Senbei, Nori Senbei, Seedless Li Hing Mui, Pietros Shoyu Dressing, Hawaiian Sun Mango-Pineapple Jelly, Soda Crackers, Ohia Ridge Chocolates, Seasoned Hawaiian Salt, and my fave Wasabi Arare! As usual, Jeff had to get the chainsaw out to unwrap the 2 packages that my mom wrapped up. (LOL) Jeff’s parents also sent us a big tin of Assorted Jelly Bellys along with our anniversary present. We got all this in one day!

Easter Eggs (Ehhh…)

Blue Chick on Grass

Patti drove up from San Diego and visited with us on Easter. I had to go to the store and buy some white eggs since we usually buy organic brown eggs. I cooked the first batch in my egg-cooker, then let Jeff cook the second batch, however that didn’t turn out so well. I think when you do back-to-back batches, it over cooks the eggs since the machine is so hot already. Most of that batch cracked so we couldn’t dye them.

Flowers and DirtThe Whole Batch

I didn’t have a very successful egg decorating session. The eggs kept cracking when i would draw on them, and my designs were just not very…creative. I got pretty frustrated, but glad at least one turned out well enough to deem photo worthy! This yellow chick on blue — quite chipper aint it? As far as the other eggs they were all disappointments! Better luck next year i guess. Patti died a few of them, like the purple and multi colored sunset looking one which i think looks really water-color-painting-ish.

I had to eat a few egg salad sandwiches for lunch this week, but i normally do so anyway, so it was NBD. Me <3 egg salad!

A Visit to the Aquarium

Taylor, Sofia & Nate

Taylor, Nathan and Sofia came down on Friday evening to spend the night with us and to go to the aquarium the next day. Jeff and I cooked some soft chicken tacos for dinner, and Taylor made a tart yummy lemon bar dessert. Sofia had fun playing with Butters and his toy, not to mention feeling abouts his “sandbox”. ( ! ) Sofia is so such a cute girl and very well behaved in my opinion!

Jeff and I haven’t been to the aquarium since last year i believe? Hasn’t been too long ago, but its always nice to go and look at the animals. I’ll share some of my more favorite photos with you (rest on flickr of course!).

Starfish, Rock, Fish Evolution Fish

I like the composition of the starfish image. And these flat fishes always freak me out! I look forward to seeing them every time i go just because they are so evolutionist!

Feather Dusters Sand Dollars

Feather duster thingers look so fairy-like. Sofia kept calling the sand dollars “cookies”. *nom nom*

Peach Jellyfish Tiny Baby Seahorse

Of course Jellies are always my favorite. These itty bitty baby seahorse are hangin on for dear life!

Sea Dragon African Froggies

Isn’t this sea dragon just beautiful? What a show off, tootin her lil snout there. African tree frogs! I love how those two are just starin’ down each other.

Taylor, Sofia & Nate Peek A Boo

Family portrait in front of the Kelp Forest. Sofia and Taylor peek through the aquarium.

Sofia goes down the slide backwards! Silly girl. She’s so happy when she gets off! Again, again!

Jeff & Diane

Jeff and I outside the aquarium with the bay behind us.

It was wonderful to have the Worthington’s over at our place for a change! We hope to spend time with them again soon. Sofia is growing up to be a amazing little girl.

Picture Cheese?

Picture Cheese?

Sofia loves the camera, its so funny. She was playing with her Daddy’s hat, and I asked if she wanted to take a photo. Her eyes light up and she goes, “Picture? Picture! Cheese!!!”. LOL. Too cute!

Italian Garlic Supreme

Italian Garlic Supreme!

Mmm, so I had to bust a little ass to clean my house tonight since Taylor and her family were coming down to visit us this weekend. I ask Jeff for quick dinner suggestions, and of course, PIZZA! We ordered Round Table‘s Italian Garlic Supreme. As their web site states, it is Super Famous, Super Good. Agreed!

Bulletin Board Backdrops

Natividad Bulletin Boards

This morning I installed these cool new bulletin board backdrops I designed for Natividad Medical Center. Spring time delightfullness! Before they just had plain corkboard, so this is quite an improvement. If only we could improve the way the flyers that are going to go into them look… but that’s a different story. 😉

Watering Fields

Watering Fields

This is an intersection i pass by on my way home from the gym. It’s kind of weird because you’re sitting at a light and there are fields right in front of you — but around here it is actually pretty common since, you know, we’re the salad bowl. It is interesting that the sprinklers are on since it was dumping rain a good portion of the day…

11:14

11:14

I had just lied down in bed to go to sleep and then i jumped up and realized i forgot to take my photo for the day! Jeff told me to go run down and get my camera and take a photo of the clock that shoots the time up onto the wall so we don’t have to turn to see the clock, we just look up. I was hoping to catch the clock at 11:11pm but didn’t make it in time. 11:14 is the time i shot, and appropriately enough there is a movie that came out a few years ago titled the same. Its a thriller/scary movie, quite graphic at times, but I really enjoyed it because it is one of those movies that play with the time line.

Basketball Tourney

Basketball Tourney

Jeff and I participated in the Stratton NCAA Basketball Tournament. We put in $20 in hopes of winning a $200 pot. We made our picks, mostly at random. Towards the end it looked like we would have a chance of winning if Connecticut won the championship, but they didn’t make it to the final 2 so we lost! But it was fun to play, I wouldn’t mind doing it again next year. Basketball is a sport that I like to watch (unlike football or wrestling)!
