Black Friday – Work from Home
Had to work from home today (black friday!) on a project I was supposed to get done a while ago. I liked working from home because i could hang out with my favorite pal Butters! He came to take a nap in my pull-out drawer. Insanely, I did get some shopping done the morning (WalMart and JCPenny – never again!) and ended up working later at night instead of a 8-5. Hey i can do that!
The Last Supper….Thanksgiving
This is our last Thanksgiving at the Worthington’s house in San Mateo because they are moving to Chicago – tomorrow! I’ve spent every Thanksgiving with them ever since they moved back up to California in 2005, so i am sad that this will be the last but at least we have our own house now to host the next Thanksgiving, even if it will just be me, Jeff and Butters! I truly looked forward to spending this holiday with Taylor and her mom’s family – they always make us feel a part of their family. Hopefully one day Taylor and Nate will move back here! We will miss them sooooo much!
Taylor and her (yet again) perfect looking and perfect tasting turkey. Sofia is helping read the recipes to us! Ok, just kidding. She likes to sit on the counter where the action is and eat up all the celery and carrots.
Homemade apple pie was delish!! Carved turkey courtesy of Nate this year, and my Zucchini Gratin dish.
See, they really are moving! Jeff and I hug it out after stuffing our faces (is that a good idea?).
BFFs Diane and Taylor! Sofia and her uncle are crashed out on the couch! How cute.
Natividad Hospital
Needed to take this photo to put into a slideshow i was creating for Natividad Medical Center.
OJ n’ Dinnerfast
Made breakfast burritos for dinner tonight with onion roasted potatoes. Easy and simple. Jeff even constituted some orange juice from frozen concentrate. Appetizing, yes?
Our orange tree is between cycles right now so we can’t make it from fresh. Though we are about to get bombarded with oranges in a few weeks! Our tree has a lot of greenies that are about to ripen. Then we will probably get sick of all the oranges and juices.
Special Candle Holders
Jeff’s mom Lisa gave me these lovely candle holders as a present at my bridal shower. They were originally her mothers. It means a lot to have a family heirloom in my ownership! It’s been a year and half since i received this gift, and finally we have a nice dining table to put them on! I just now bought some taper candles to go in them. Recently i have seen pretty holiday sparkly ones that i think would look better than these plain white ones. Maybe i’ll buy some on sale day after Christmas. Cuz everything is better sparkly… duh.
Sunday Sleep-Ins
The Sunday routine is that I get up a little past my normal time so around 7:15am. Sunday is cleaning day… so i like to get a bunch of chores done while Jeff is still sound asleep and then i feel accomplished! Butters usually hangs out with me for a bit after i feed him breakfast – today he broke away mid-morning and took a nap next to Jeff. Here are my to loves just waking up (Jeff asked to be cropped out of the photo).
A Mouse in the House
Butters ravages the kitchen everyday looking for leftover snacks. Today he scored a Pillsbury buttermilk flaky biscuit. He must have been playing with his mouse at the same time, because, here lies the evidence of his romping.
Sandy’s 50th Birthday
Sandy’s 50th birthday party was held at a mansion! OK it wasn’t a mansion per say but it is probably the nicest house i have ever set foot in. Elaborate woodwork everywhere, large patio with a pool… a huge media room, all the fancy details you would expect to see on a house on MTV cribs. Anyways, I brought Carrie along with me as a date (seen in the background) since she hadn’t officially met Sandy and we’re all into the aerobic thing. Carrie and I got horribly lost getting to this place — stupid Google Maps! We almost went over a cliff in my little 2-wheel drive Toyota Corolla. An hour later we found it. I baked some gingerbread star cookies earlier in the day which took forever to bake but were SO worth it. Sandy loved them and so did everyone else. Oh and the theme was 60s, so i dressed sort of Mod-ish — remember this dress i bought a while ago from Max Studio? Perfect. Was a great night and Sandy looked sooo happy!
Angie (from step class) and I. Everyone is dancin’ and having a good time!
Singing Happy Birthday to Sandy. Cheryl and DJ Tammi!
So it was funny to be here at this party because i’ve taken group exercise class from Sandy, Cheryl, Tammi and Cammy (in the hat in the dancing picture) at different points in the past few years. They all go way back together when aerobics was in its “hay day”. They are a fun bunch of people. I am glad i got to go to the party. Carrie and I almost gave up trying to find it!
Timesheet Post Its
Waited till the end of the week to fill in my timesheet at work this week. We use Quickbooks Online Time Tracker and i just write down everything and usually input them every other day or so.
