Project 365 – Day 19 – Poor Fishie
I had to clean the fish tank today, so I snapped a bunch of photos of the fish before doing so. After I finished syphoning and squeeging, I replaced the filter and added some fresh water. Well, I think something must have gone wrong during this process because right now my fish is lying down sideways on the floor of the tank, breathing heavily. I also noticed he has a scab on his side which was not there before. This must have happened just now, since I was watching how she gets sudden bursts of energy and swins againist the rock and bumps into the side of the tank.
This is exactly how Anuenue (my previous African Cichlid of the same coloring) died.. it was after i cleaned the tank, and he laid on his side for a while with sudden bursts of clumsy swimming.
Tomorrow morning i’m expecting a dead fish. Meanwhile, Jeff is out to Orlando’s bachelor party in Reno.

Do you let the new water sit for a day or two to allow the chlorine to evaporate out?
